Tutoring for Primary & High School

Candice Simpson is my English tutor and has been since early/mid last year. She is someone I would highly recommend in any position of teaching. I would highly recommend Candice Simpson, she has shown nothing but kindness, patients and understanding during my learning. During the time Candice has taught me, my understanding and perspective of English has changed, and she has helped me greatly in my learning. Candice has taught me how to improve my writing technique, widened my vocabulary, and taught me how to utilise techniques and structures appropriate in English tasks. She is very patient in the way she teaches unfamiliar, new, or difficult concepts. Candice has been very understanding when situations have arisen causing our sessions to be cancelled, while also finding solutions or ways to work around any issues that have arisen regarding time management and scheduling. Some of these solutions include sending a confirmation/reminder email the day before our sessions or arranging times and days that are suitable and consistent. In addition, Candice is very reliable and always on time to our sessions. I have nothing but good experiences with Candice, she has done nothing but greatly improve my learning skills and is continuing to do so.

Candice has been tutoring our daughter in English and History for over 2½ years and I can’t thank her enough for the support and encouragement she has given Genevieve. This has been evident in the level of confidence she has gained and in her overall academic performance. As a parent it has been reassuring having a tutor who is reliable, accommodating and who has the ability to teach. Candice has helped our family more than she will ever know.

Our eldest daughter transitioned to high school in 2021 and struggled through Year 7 with her learning. We had to drag her through every piece of homework, assessment and exam (there were lots of tutting, sighing and eye rolling!). Her academic results were reasonable, few C’s, couple of B’s and the odd A here and there, but there was room for improvement. She had no time management skills, had challenges unpacking an assessment and hadn’t yet made the link between effort in equals results. My husband and I have watched our daughter blossom into a student who understands that planning, effort in and consistent learning will yield positive results. We saw an immediate improvement with her receiving a Bronze Academic Award term 4 2022. As she transitioned to a new high school in 2023, she was able to secure a place on an Academic Excellence program and received a Gold Academic Award and the Academic Excellence / Junior Service Award in 2023 (highest grades in junior school), along with a Dux Award for her sports code. She’s gone from a stressed out, unfocussed learner to a planner who never leaves anything to the last minute and proactively seeks out learning support. Candice has been a pivotal part of this transformation.

From my perspective, Candice has helped me enormously. Over the course of the time, I have been with her, my grades have improved incredibly, which has even led me to get an Academic Progress Award. She is a fantastic tutor who gives me help, but at the same time will ensure that I have a go, and doing the work by myself. I have also improved with my grammar, punctuation, and other vocabulary, as well as becoming better at writing without the need for lots of guidance. Candice is a very kind, helpful and easy-going person who always ensures that the assignments I produce are A level standard. I will be very saddened when my time with her comes to an end, however, I am more hopeful about my studies for the near future and am more confident that I will succeed, thanks to the guidance Candice has shown me through these years.

Candice is an exceptional primary and high school tutor, with years of experience across many subjects. She has had a positive impact on my children’s education, giving them the confidence and motivation needed to engage and excel in the classroom. Candice was fantastic throughout my senior school years. We communicated via zoom sessions. She was always incredibly helpful in allowing me to understand concepts required for my assignments.
